FOR BETTER OR WORSE:
Alcohol
Remember the words of Mr.
McNamara, "There are of course many ways to make the death rate
increase." Why, when the Federal Government has used millions of
"dollars" of tax money to sponsor research into numerous rare diseases,
is there no effort made to outlaw the most dangerous drug of all
--alcohol?
Tobacco
Why, when the Federal
Government has used millions of "dollars" to effect a cure for cancer,
does the government subsidize the tobacco farmer with tax money?
Medicine
In A Time For Action,
Mr. William E. Simon, former Secretary of the Treasury, exclaimed, "How
many people have died in America because drugs useful in treating heart
disease available in other countries are not accessible in this country"
(Wilber, 32).
When there is abundant evidence Americans are poisoning
themselves with several thousands of food and water additives, such as
chemical fertilizers, chemical pesticides, chemical fungicides, chemical
preservatives, chemical colorings, chemical flavorings, etc.; why is
there not a concerted effort on the part of the Federal Government to
clean up America?
Dr. Emmanuel Josephson, who studied at John Hopkins,
declared that in 1958, Americans were tied with the Swiss as the
healthiest people in the world. Only 5 percent of Americans were ill.
Why, with all of America's "advanced" medical technology, is this
country in the 79th place in health in the world? Dr. William
Schindledecker MD, DC, ND, HMD said that Dr. Josephson cited 96 percent
of Americans are ill.
How can we sing, "God Bless America?" How can we bless
what God has cursed? Is it not a farce? And, how can we pray God to
bless our land? Will we not be made partakers of her evil deeds? (II
John 9-11)
The Remedy
If our nation is to enjoy the
blessing of God, the only remedy is repentance --if God is pleased to
grant it. This would necessitate a return to constitutional banking--a
system of banking founded upon the Law of God, the Law of a perfect and
just weight and measure. According to Article One, Section 8 of the
Constitution of the United States, "Congress shall have power . . . to
coin money”, not print it --"regulate the value thereof and of foreign
coin, and fix the standard of weights and measures" which it did by the
Coinage Act of 1792.
Therefore, the first thing that should be done is to
recognize the Coinage Act which made gold and silver the standard for
the unit of weight known as the "dollar." Whenever paper, tobacco or
corn is used as an alternative to the precious metals, inflation is the
result. Even when paper "money” is redeemable in "lawful money," the
paper has created the illusion that the “money supply" has expanded.
Paper “money" is inflation, whether it takes the form of bank notes or
bonds.
Paper "money” was very familiar to the drafters of the
Constitution. Therefore, they purposely did not authorize its use. It
was well known that paper "money" served only as an exercise in fraud.
To illustrate again, if a dollar “bill" was able to be redeemed with a
dollar of silver, yet both were placed into circulation, it would create
the illusion that the money supply had doubled. And if the currency was
loaned to a third party, the "money" would appear to have tripled. Under
our present system, however, all instruments of intrinsic value have
been taken from the American people.
Second, national repentance would result in the
abolition of the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 --an Act spawned in
rebellion against Almighty God as has been clearly evidenced. Louis T.
McFadden submitted his impeachment Resolution in 1934. It is still in
Committee in the Judiciary. Congressman Coldborough submitted a bill HR
9216 in 1935. Congressman Voorhis submitted a bill HR 2809 in 1940 and
another bill HR 373 in 1943. Congressman John Rarick submitted his bill
HR 17140 in 1970 and another bill HR 351 in 1971. Congress has acted
upon none of the bills. They all lie buried in Committee (Griffin, 192).
A third thing repentance would effect would be the
abolition of the graduated income tax system which funds all the
outrageous programs not to mention the programs that are wicked and
anti-God.
