FOR BETTER OR WORSE:
Taxation and Education
Our Lord Jesus Christ
admonished, "Suffer the little children to come unto Me and forbid them
not," yet parents allow the theater, the dance, the drug culture and
public education to scandalize them.
In a pamphlet entitled “How To Understand Humanism,"
Mr. Bill Gothard quotes a professor of Educational Psychology at
Harvard. In addressing a Childhood Education seminar, the professor
declared,
Every child in America entering
school at the age of 5 is mentally ill because he comes to school
with certain allegiances toward our founding fathers, toward our
elected officials, toward his parents, toward a belief in a
Supernatural Being, toward the sovereignty of this nation as a
separate entity.
It is up to
you teachers to make all of these sick children well by creating the
international children of the future.
In the same pamphlet, Mr.
Gothard quotes Mr. John Dunphy, a summa cum laude graduate of the
University of Illinois, who said in a publication entitled "The Capital
Voice",
I am convinced that the battle for
humankind's future must be waged and won in the public school
classroom by teachers who correctly perceive their role as the
proselytizers of a new faith: a religion of humanity that recognizes
and respects the spark of what theologians call divinity in every
human being. These teachers must embody the same selfless dedication
as the most rabid fundamentalist preachers; for they will be
ministers of another sort, utilizing a classroom instead of a pulpit
to convey humanist values in whatever subject they teach, regardless
of the education level --Pre-school, day care or large state
university.
The classroom must and will become an arena of conflict between the
old and the new --the rotting corpse of Christianity, together with
all its adjacent evils and misery, and the new faith of humanism,
resplendent in its promise of a world in which the never-realized
ideal of "love thy neighbor" will finally be achieved.
Then, perhaps, we will be able to say with Tom Paine that "the world
is my country, all (hu)mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my
religion." It will undoubtably be a long, arduous, painful
struggle replete with much sorrow and many tears; but humanism will
emerge triumphant! It must if the family of humankind is to survive.
While national educators openly
boast that their intention is to spoil our children through philosophy
and vain deceit, after the traditions of men, after the rudiments of the
world and not after Christ, yet Christian parents continue to tolerate
the seduction of their children by sending them to public schools. They
have a mistaken sense of value who prefer their home, their automobiles,
or their boat to the moral and spiritual welfare of their children.
Blatant Hypocrisy
The people of God lift up
their voice and cry against sodomy, abortion, adultery and the like, yet
they turn around and finance such abominations through voluntary
taxation. Since January 22, 1973 when the United States Supreme Court
ruled unborn children are non-persons, tens of millions of innocent
children have been murdered on the altars of lust and expediency.
Millions of these murders have been financed by voluntary contributions
in the form of Federal and state taxes.
God commanded, "Thou shalt not kill." If the
interpretation of the Ten Commandments is now the responsibility of the
Supreme Court Justices, then the black-robed Justices have become the
essence of a new priestly order.
God holds each man responsible to obey His Law, whether
a Supreme Court Justice, or Caesar himself. No man is above the Law of
God. God will bring every man before His Judgment bar to answer for his
own sins.
No one has authority to supersede God's Law. If a
parent orders his child to tell a lie; if a husband forbids his wife to
attend public worship; if a teacher requires a student to disobey the
lawful instruction of his parents; if "Caesar" demands the things that
belong to God; or if the Supreme Court Justices declare it to be
"lawful" to murder unwanted children or unwanted elderly people --each
has violated the bounds of his authority and must not be obeyed. All
such "authority" is illegitimate. Scripture commands "Let every soul be
subject unto the higher powers.” (Romans 13:1) Therefore, to obey such
usurpers of God's authority would be treason against the Almighty
Himself. All disobedience to the Law of God is sin.
Can Christians plead innocence when they knowingly
support sodomy, illegitimacy, fornication and aborticide with their
taxes? Is this government composed of the sons of the psalm-singers who
came over the wide ocean on the Mayflower and the Speedwell? And, what
will God say to Christians when they explain to Him that they funded
these abominations because they feared the government? Our Lord Jesus
Christ warned, "Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that
have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom you shall
fear: fear Him, which after He hath killed hath power to cast into Hell;
yea, I say unto you, fear Him." (Luke 12:4,5)
Again, can a Christian be guiltless who opposes such
wickedness but who "toes the mark" when he hears the sound of the
"cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery and dulcimer" playing to the
tune of "April the 15th?" To do so is to support the very things God
condemns. What hypocrisy! Can the people of God drink the "cup of the
Lord and the cup of devils?" (I Corinthians 10:21) It would be easier
for a fountain to send forth at the same place sweet water and salt
water.
Will God accept our tithes and offerings when we are
willing to support with our taxes the perversions of His Law? What
abhorrent, what blatant hypocrisy!
