"COME ON ...REALLY?"

Does it really make any difference to you whether or not you please the Lord Jesus in everything you do?...Really?

Does it really make any difference to you whether or not you please Him...

1. in your talk?

2. what about in your imaginations?

3. in your Prayer life?

4. in your Job?

5. what about in your Home?

6. what about the way you use your money?

7. and what about pleasing Him in your Attendance upon His Word in Worship?

Come on now...does it make any difference to you whether or not you please God in everything?...Really?

"NEGLECT YOUR SOUL...

NO LONGER! If you die in your sins, think of the loss!

1. Your soul will be lost.

2. Your Hope will be lost.

3. Heaven will be lost to you forever.

"Christ’s heart is open; His arms are spread--

     He has room enough in His bosom to receive you;

He has Grace enough to pardon you;

He has Blood enough to justify you;

     He has treasures enough to enrich you;

     He has pleasures enough to delight you;

He has Glory enough to crown you.

"Neglect your soul no longer!"

-John Bunyan-

MY GOD I HAVE FOUND

J. Denham Smith

Tune: Sing this to the tune "Revive Us Again"

My God I have found--the thrice-blessed ground,

Where life and where joy and true comfort abound.

‘Tis found in the blood of Him Who once stood

My Refuge, my Safety, my Surety with God.

He bore on the tree the sentence for me,

And now both the Surety and sinner are free.

Accepted I am in the once offered Lamb;

It was God, Who Himself had devised the plan.

And though here below, ’mid sorrow and woe,

My place is in Heaven with Jesus I know.

And this I shall find, for such is His mind--

He’ll not be in Heaven and leave me behind."

Chorus:

Hallelujah! Thine the glory. Hallelujah! Amen;

Hallelujah! Thine the glory. Revive us again.

THE PARENTAGE OF YOUR BIBLE

Part X

Text: "Seek ye out of the book of the Lord and read...."--Isaiah 34:16

William Tyndale had been burned at the stake--but not before he had prayed, "Oh Lord, open the eyes of the king of England that he may see every Englishman needs a copy of the Word 0f God." It was well that he addressed the Lord of Heaven because "The king’s heart is in the hand of (Him), as the rivers of water: He turneth it whithersoever He will."--(Proverbs 21:1)

The Prayer had been made, but will God answer? Oh yes, for he who stays in tune with the courts of Heaven wills none other than the will of the Father to be done. Besides, we know whatsoever we ask we receive of him if "we keep His commandments, and do those things that are

pleasing in His sight."--(I John 3:22)

Nearly 80 years later, King James I or England allowed the Word of God to go forth unmolested when 54 translators dedicated their work to the king. But this very act which gave tolerance to the dissemination of the Word made it unpopular among the Separatists. The Puritans would not seek the favor of an ungodly king and thus it was that they refused to accept the King James Version. In its place, they substituted the Geneva Bible, a new translation made in Geneva, Switzerland. More will be said later about the Geneva version. But it is interesting to note that the King James Version is generally accepted today by Independents, the Separatists of today. Yet in that day, the endorsement of a worldly man made it wholly unacceptable.

Chapter IV

Miles Coverdale was one of the many translators during the period spanning the life of Tyndale and the l611 Version, otherwise known as the Authorized Version, popularly called the King James Version. What happened to his attempts at dispersing the Word of God will be told in the next edition of THE ANGELUS. Read it!
